Maybe Happiness Means Something Different....

So I'm reading a new book. It's called "I Got You" by Rob Hill Sr. It's amazing. Anywho, there's a chapter about about happiness that has changed the way I view things that bring me joy. I've literally been wrong all along about what it means to be happy. For a long time I viewed happiness as being something that happens to you. You really don't have to go out looking for it because it's something things at tends to find you. But now I know that happiness is so much bigger than me. A true state of happiness radiates beyond just you. You literally become filled with love and all things good. It doesn't mean life is perfect and it doesn't mean that you're perfect. What it means is that you have reached a place where sharing with others brings you joy and that is a great thing. It means that you're prepared to be vulnerable. To let your guard down. To try. And to never give up.

It means that you have come to understand that life is so much bigger than just you. That maybe taking one step at a time is more rewarding than always trying to win the race. What I'm learning is that our definitions of things like happiness and love change over time. As we endure more life experiences, we change and that is okay. I also want to stress the importance of trusting your process and being present in the moment. You guys already know that I react to almost every situation. And while that's okay for some situations, not every moment requires a reaction. It's okay to be dissapointed and even a little sad. Be present in that moment and trust that life has a way of working itself out. I need you to know that you are exactly where you are supposed to be. It’s okay to not know exactly what every step of the process is going to look like. And sometimes it is okay to intensely plan out your next week so that you can get everything done.

Believe me when I say that it is possible to be a mess and a masterpiece at the same time and thats just the beauty of life.

We don’t know for sure where the road is going to take us. All we can do it hope that where we end up brings our hearts the peace and love we’ve prayed so hard for.

Be patient. What's yours will be yours. There's no doubt about that.

You’re only getting better. I hope this brought your heart some peace. Stay stong.
